Safety posters
Safety posters
De Roeck was responsible for the layout and illustrations for a series of safety posters from the nineteen fifties, commissioned by the ‘Association of Belgian Industrialists for the Prevention of Accidents’. Tricolour posters always depicted workers in perilous work situations. De Roeck distinguished himself from the many anonymous draughtsmen in this genre, as he managed to portray the message in such a concise, but certainly also humorous way. It also served to prove De Roeck’s competence as a designer who took the expectations of the intended audience into account.
